December

December started out slow. Spencer finished his class and we got ready to go to Colorado. Jacob keeps learning. He loves to color, "help" mom sweep
We spent Christmas in Colorado and loved being with family.   He got his aunts and uncles to play with him and his cousins lots!  Jacob is growing and learning lots!  He runs and jabbers. He is starting to say more words and recognizes words.  He loves books and puzzles.
We all got sick at the end of the trip when we were at Spencer's family's house, so I wasn't as good at taking pictures of them :(

He has learned what a phone is and how to use it. He will take phones, calculators, and sometimes toys that look nothing like a phone and say, "hello?" He enjoys it when we call his grandparents and he can visit :)

Happy Thanksgiving

Jake has learned how to get things he wants. He pulls a bag of pop corn out of the pantry and waives it at Spencer until he makes some to share with him. (Don't worry, we watch him closely - he normally doesn't get the whole bowl like this).

He has also learned how to move the step stool around to get to things. We keep his crayons on top of the fridge. He will put the step stool here and climb up and say something that sounds like color until we let him do so :)

Jake wanted to read some stories  which  led to Spencer setting up the train while Jake used him as a jungle gym
Celebrating Laura's birthday
Kelsey came to visit and we celebrated her birthday

Jake, a little tired and scared from trick or treating at Lee's grocery with his cousins (above) and also tired and a little scared from Spencer's work party
Playing with the hose with Spencer.
Jake started saying several words with meaning. He can point at a picture of Jesus and say Jesus and car are the most frequent ones. He says amen at the end of prayers and is trying out lots of other sounds.  He also is responding to what we say.   If I ask him to take something to Spencer or go to him, he will.  He will hand me things when I ask, understand when we say no, tells us no if he doesn't want something, and can pick out his own clothes if we let him.  We love him so much!
