April 2019

April was a fun month! The kids got to celebrate Easter again, and again and again and again (neighborhood hunt, Hess hunt with Spencer's brother's kids, King grandparent hunt at the park, and Aunt Nicole hunt Easter morning). Charlotte didn't quite get it, but Jacob gave everyone a run for their money as he collected up a basket full of eggs before we could blink.

Stephen and Nicole and family came for Easter weekend and we celebrated Stephen passing the bar! He's an official, employed attorney!

Charlotte turned 1. She walks more than anything else. She is getting better at expressing herself, good at up, down, out, and some hi's and bye's. She likes to play in dirt, eat, take phones, and have freedom to go where she wants to go.

Marie is pretty much potty trained. No accidents in several weeks and she finally earned her prize (she picked out a nurse barbie with 2 babies - we covered it with two packets of sticky notes and she go to take them off as she tried to use the potty). She is also getting better at coloring. She will color whole pictures now and is getting better at the ABCs and letter recognition. She also loves her siblings. She loves to help (as long as she isn't too tired or hungry). She is also really good at going to bed. She loves to ask questions

Jacob is growing so fast. His clothes don't fit anymore! He's still growing and learning with reading. He is getting more creative and drawing pictures without prompts, and is a great big brother and can be a good helper.

This is Jacob's first graph. The sticker is what the column represents, and the number on the bottom is the number of foam stickers underneath. I was impressed to see him create this on his own without prompting (as a math teacher :)

Jacob's chalk drawing of our family. Grandma, Marie, Jacob wearing his red shorts, Mommy holding Charlotte, Daddy, and Grandpa Hess (with either his knee scooter or cane).

And Marie drew a lot of 'roads'

We taught preschool at our house and went on a nature walk to look at plants and seeds

There is a picture with me holding baby Marie. Charlotte loves it.

Scott's family came to visit and it snowed. Xandyr built a mini snowman with Jacob and Marie

The kids road bikes with Scott's kids.
