Even though Jake slept through fireworks on the 4th of July, we had a fun month. Most of Jake and Kristin's time was spent in Colorado visiting both families between Kristin's work meetings in Denver.

 

Kevin and my Mom came visit for a few day before they went back to Colorado and to give Kevin a little time to recover from his ear surgery. Jake was disappointed that Kevin wasn't his normal energetic self.

 

Jake had lots of fun playing with his Hess grandparents along with the cousins and aunts who were around too.

 

Stephen's family was staying with my parents before they moved for him to start law school. Jake had lots of fun with his cousin,

and more Grandparents

 

he started picking up the phone and asking to 'call daddy' as he pushed buttons. We really missed Spencer, who had to stay to work. Jake asked to see pictures of Spencer each night before bed (and sometimes more often) along with frequent calls. 

 

Jake got to go to the zoo with his cousin. They seemed to enjoy seeing the animals. I was pleased with how well he stayed in the stroller and kept his hat on during the trip

 

Hard to tell here, but Jake's King uncles stuffed his shirt with foam blocks. Jake kept taking the blocks to them and they probably put in about 50 blocks.

 

Sandra took us swimming at her pool. The baby pool was just the right size. The kids loved it. 

 

Tyler and Robyn took Jake swimming while we were over too. Jake loved it and asked about it for several days after. Their pool had a 'luke-warm' hot tub with jets and a water fall feature. Tyler spent most of the pool time taking Jake back and forth between the water fall and the jets. Jake loved them and still mentions them.
