July 2019

We went to the King family reunion. We stayed in tent/bunk houses. We had so much fun being outside and with family. This was our bunk house. I'm waiting to get more pictures that others took (like of Spencer going down the zip line).

Henry and Sarah came to visit. So much cousin fun!

Jacob and Marie took swim lessons. They gained so much water confidence. Jacob can jump in the pool now on his own and is ready for the next level.

I signed both kids up for the same level, but Marie saw the table and toys in the next level down and just took her self over to the next level down. She loved it and did great!

Laura and Cody came to visit. Charlotte was enthralled by baby Leo.

This is a "stick" that Jacob brought back from the King family reunion. It is a piece of grass that he put in the fire. He was pretty distraught when it got lost. Then we found it and he was distraught when it broke in half.

James, Daniel, baby Aaron and Aunt Nicole came to visit. These cousins love being together.

Charlotte loves Grandpa Hess. A week or two ago he shaved his beard. She had not seen him for about a week (Spencer and I were in Boston and she was with us). In the morning she heard his voice and squealed with delight and ran out of the room to see him. He had shaved and she walked right by him. It took a couple of days for her to realize he was the same person.

Jacob and Marie had a birthday party that they went too. Jacob has Mars and Saturn on his face in face paint. Marie has hearts. When I went to pick them up, Jacob said that he didn't think I would like him having his face painted (the day before we had talked about tattoos). So I asked if I could paint their faces for them before we left.

This is our Boston trip. Johnson and Wales Online flew me out for a conference and put us up in Rhode Island. We went a little early and saw some historic Boston and explored Rhode Island. While we were there, Jacob and Marie got to have two play dates with Jacob's preschool friends, spent a few days with Grandma/pa King, saw Toy Story 4, got to spend a few days with Grandma/pa Hess and Aunt Julie and her kids were in town. They had so much fun. But they were happy to have us back. For the first few night after we got back, Marie's prayers included something about being glad we were back and that she needed her Mommy and Jacob needed his Daddy. Charlotte was also happy to be back with her siblings and grandparents.

Charlotte ate lots of blueberries while we were there.

She loved walking up and down the hotel ramp in the lobby

We went to Sharon Vermont and saw the birth place of Joseph Smith. It was a very peaceful place with a wonderful spirit.

And we had some amazing fresh sea food.

Jacob - Started school August 14th. He was so excited, but it has been a big change. He is in school all day and is pretty worn out. He misses Marie. His first day, he made a Pete the cat, and colored it with pink stripes and hearts because he knew Marie would like it.
Marie - She is getting more interested in reading. She will pick up a book and try to "sound" out the words like Jacob does. She does not have her letters down yet, but her interest is piqued. She is going to be doing a co-op preschool this year with some of the Moms from Jacob's group last year. 5 girls! She is so excited
Charlotte - she just want to be with the big kids. She is getting so busy and babbles all the time. She love books and getting into things that big people use. Remote controls and phones are a favorite.
Spencer-finished his physics class and did very well. Enjoying the time off before the next session starts
Kristin - also enjoying a few weeks off before the next sessions starts. This summer has been busy!
