June 2023

June was full on swim team, daily practice in the morning and day-long meets on Saturdays. Jacob, Marie and Charlotte all got much better. Charlotte's first meet - she wouldn't even get in the water. Then, she would get in if she could stroke the the coaches arm, then have the coach in the water, then just cheering her from the side of the pool. Literally walking up and down the pool and encouraging her. She would stroke, grab the rope, stroke, rope, etc. The last meet, the whole team (and probably the other team) was cheering her on. She loved the attention.

Jacob and Marie really bloomed as swimmers and tried many different strokes. They did great. We also had lots of fun with friends from church at the meet, sharing tents, and snacks. We had some of the kids from church over for a swim team movie night (swim team's movie night was outside and too late, so we had it earlier and inside). They also enjoyed a pancake breakfast and picked up trash with the team for a service project.

Jacob earned and saved up $117 to buy his own bike! Spencer helped him set it up! We were so proud of him!

We also celebrated Spencer's birthday and Jacob and Marie learned how to make balloon animals at church.
