August 2020

In August, we were had the new house. Spencer and his friends the Mitchells repainted the bedrooms, hallways, and main floor. I did some painting, too, but was early in my first pregnancy (that ended up being a miscarriage), so was quite tired.

We celebrated Jacob's 7th birthday

While I was at the new house cleaning, the kids had fun running around and playing. But Charlotte still needed naps, so I set up a bed in the corner for her

This was a pre-painting picture. Some of the walls were definitely in need of painting.

Another thing the girls did while I cleaned was get into the closets. I had brought over lots of my Mom's things (including some Halloween costumes). They took almost everything down from the closets and played dress up

This was at Scott and Sandra's. Marie built a tower of blankets and pillows on top of some chairs and fell asleep there at bedtime (in the basement)

This was the piano mover's moving my Mom's grand piano to the new house. I was impressed.

This was Jacob's Pokemon Mightyanna costume that Aunt Robyn made him for his birthday, on request :)

So the people who bought my Mom's house went through the whole house a few days before the movers and put painter's tape with notes that they wanted things. It was a little funny because it was almost all the furniture. The ward had already moved out all the boxes we had packed so all that was left was the big, heavy things. They were willing to let her leave it all. She left them this TV stand.

In our new house, the sellers left their washer and dryer; however, the washer was moldy, so we got rid of it. Then, we installed our washer that we had from Utah. There were some leaking problems and then a 'nf' error. So we sold it for $100 and Spencer found a new one on super clearance at Lowe's for $250.

The kids also got to spend time with cousins and had fun during the move. One of the great benefits of the move was that Marie got her own room. This meant that Jacob and she no longer kept each other up until way too late. This meant that her personality changed completely. She is now a very mild mannered, helpful, sweet, and well rested little girl. Her spicy temper has calmed down significantly. It is still there, but not out 100% of the time. It makes things much easier for me.
